Brahms Violin sonata No.1 in G major and Brahms Horn Trio
Alexander Harris is a freelance French Horn player whose work encompasses orchestral, chamber and solo performance. He has performed at the BBC Proms and Helsinki Festival as Principal Horn, and has toured Europe, Japan and India.
Alexander has played Guest Principal Horn with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra of India. He also works with the BBC Symphony, Philharmonic and National Orchestra of Wales; Britten Sinfonia, English National Ballet, London Symphony, Royal Philharmonic, Oxford Philharmonic and Royal Scottish National Orchestras; Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Philharmonia, and the National Symphony Orchestra Ireland. His recent solo performances include Strauss’1st Horn Concerto with the Royal Wootton Basset Orchestra at Malmesbury Abbey.
Alexander first studied at the RCM Junior Department, receiving the Anthony Gray Horn Prize. He went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he was awarded the Lord Mayor’s Prize, and the Royal College or Music where he was a Musicians’ Company Lambert Scholar.
Having been brought up in Swindon, attending the Swindon Recital Series and taking part in local festivals in both Swindon and Royal Wootton Bassett, Alexander is thrilled to be returning to the Wyvern stage.
